2026 Hokkaido Autumn Sale Preview

08 October, 2026

The 2026 Hokkaido Autumn Sale has catalogued 399 yearlings for this year's edition. Of those, 189 are being offered for the first time, while 210 were either unsold or withdrawn from previous yearling sales. The two-day sale will commence on Tuesday, October 13.

Two sires standing at Darley Japan, Yoshida (JPN) and Tower of London (JPN), will each be represented by 13 yearlings. Salios (JPN), who currently sits second in the freshman sire standings behind Efforia (JPN), follows the two Darley sires with 12 yearlings catalogued. These are the only three sires with double-digit representation at this year's Hokkaido Autumn Sale.

Among the consignors, Craic Stable leads the way with 29 yearlings, followed by MAX Training Farm with 21. They are the only two consignors offering more than 20 yearlings at the sale.

The Hokkaido September Sale produced slightly disappointing results, particularly following the record-breaking Hokkaido Summer Sale. As the final yearling sale of the season in Japan, the Hokkaido Autumn Sale represents an important final opportunity for sellers and will provide another indication of the strength of the yearling market heading into the end of the season.

The two-day sale will take place at the Hokkaido Sales Complex beginning on October 13.
