The Hokkaido Autumn Sale is the final yearling sale of the year in Japan. A total of 383 yearlings are catalogued for this year's edition, the smallest number in the entire Hokkaido Autumn Sale history. Held over just two days, the sale will take place on Tuesday, 15th and Wednesday 16th October. The final 169 lots at the end of this sale were either withdrawn or not sold at previous yearling sales this year.
Darley Japan's American Patriot (USA) is represented by the largest portion of the catalogue with 14 yearlings on offer. His stable companion Thunder Snow (IRE) has 10 yearlings, the same number as Curren Black Hill (JPN).
The current most expensive commercial sire in Japan is Kitasan Black (JPN). He is offering only one yearling in the Hokkaido Autumn Sale this year. Lot 181, a colt out of a JRA winner, Ozil (USA). The Stormy Atlantic (USA) mare has produced three-time JRA winner Rough Stream (JPN), by Duramente (JPN).
Five consignors are offering more than 15 yearlings at the Hokkaido Autumn Sale. Hidaka Keishuba Ikusei Kousha has the largest number with 30 yearlings, and they are followed by Craic Stable with 28 yearlings. Mombetsu Bokujo and Max Training Farm are offering 19 yearlings and N & star Training Center has 17 youngsters.
Last year's Hokkaido Autumn Sale average price was 1.3% up from the year before and it was the highest average price ever for the sale. The smallest catalogue of the Hokkaido Autumn Sale will be held at the Hokkaido Sales Complex on 15th and 16th October.
