The 2023 Hokkaido Autumn Sale is the final yearling sale in Japan, making it the end of yet another solid domestic sales season. This year-ending two-day sale will have 491 lots offered on October 16th and 17th.
There are 138 different stallions represented in this sale. The offerings include two foreign stallions in Pinatubo(IRE) and Saxon Warrior(JPN). Some of the stallions with ten or more lots in the sale are American-bred G1 winner American Patriot(USA), American-bred Japanese G1 winner Asia Express(USA), Japanese dirt champion Smart Falcon(JPN), Two time Dubai World Cup winner Thunder Snow(IRE), Jpn1 winning dirt miler Best Warrior(USA), dirt champion Le Vent Se Leve(JPN).
Promising young stallions like Admire Mars(JPN), Al Ain(JPN), California Chrome(USA), Gold Dream(JPN), Cheval Grand(JPN) and Mozu Ascot(USA) are also up for auction.
The Autumn Sale is the last opportunity for Japanese owners to purchase yearlings. This year, the market should be substantial, given the strength of the markets in previous sales.
