June JRA Graded Stakes Review

In the 2000m G3 Naruo Kinen at Chukyo Racecourse on June 4th G1 placed Weltreisende(JPN) by Dream Journey(JPN) earned his first graded stakes win. Half a length back in second was Geraldina(JPN) who is the four-year-old daughter by Maurice(JPN) and out of champion Gentildonna(JPN). Sanrei Pocket(JPN) by Jungle Pocket(JPN) was a head back in third.

In the 1600m G1 Yasuda Kinen at Tokyo Racecourse on June 5th Songline(JPN) by Kizuna(JPN) earned her first G1 title beating Schnell Meister(GER) by Kingman(GB) who beat her in the G1 NHK Mile last year by similar margins. Schnell Meister(GER) was a neck back in second, with Salios(JPN) by Heart's Cry(JPN) was a head back in third.

In the 1800m G3 Epsom Cup at Tokyo Racecourse on June 12th North Bridge(JPN) by Maurice(JPN) got his neck in front as half the field stormed the finish line together to grab his first graded stakes win. Galore Creek(JPN) by Kinshasa no Kiseki(AUS) was a neck back in second and Darlington Hall(GB) by New Approach(IRE) was another neck back in third.

In the 1200m G3 Hakodate Sprint Stakes at Hakodate Racecourse on June 12th Namura Clair(JPN) by Mikki Isle(JPN) stretched out to easily claim her second graded stakes win. Jubilee Head(JPN) by Lord Kanaloa(JPN) was two and half lengths back in second. Taisei Avenir(JPN) by Behkabad(FR) was three quarters of a length back in third.

In the 1600m G3 Unicorn Stakes over the dirt at Tokyo Racecourse on June 19th the first three to cross the finish line first were all at double digit odds. Peisha Es(JPN) by Espoir City(JPN) stalked the pace before holding on to win by a neck. Sekifu(JPN) by Henny Hughes(USA) made his first start since his two month trip to the Middle East and finish a very game second. Battle Cry(JPN) by Isla Bonita(JPN) was another neck back in third.

In the 2000m G3 Mermaid Stakes at Hanshin Racecourse on June 19th Win Mighty(JPN) by Gold Ship(JPN) earned her first graded stakes win. Maria Elena(JPN) by Kurofune(JPN) was a length and three quarters back in third. Soft Fruit(JPN) by Deep Impact(JPN) was a neck back in third.

In the 2200m G1 Takarazuka Kinen at Hanshin Racecourse on June 26th Titleholder(JPN) by Duramente(JPN) continued his domination at the stayer distance setting a race and course record. Hishi Iguazu(JPN) by Heart's Cry(JPN) was two lengths back in second. It was another two lengths further to Daring Tact(JPN) by Epiphaneia(JPN) who finished third.
