30 March, 2017
Meydan Racecourse in Dubai showcased another top-notch day of racing on March 25 (Sat) as it hosted the 2017 Dubai World Cup Day, the richest racing day of the year. Japanese trained VIVLOS, who ran in the Dubai Turf, one of the top turf middle-distance races in the world, started behind horses but showed impressive acceleration in the stretch to win the US$6 million race under jockey Joao Moreira. This is the second G1 victory for VIVLOS, a 4-year-old filly by Deep Impact (JPN).
Japanese-bred horses have an excellent record in the Dubai World Cup Day races, a meeting where the best racehorses in the world come together each year. With VIVLOS's win, Japanese horses have now earned seven G1 victories in Dubai.
