This year's five-day Hokkaido Summer Sale is fast approaching. The Summer Sale, which will be held from August 22 to 26 this year, is the largest sale in Japan and will feature roughly 1,300 yearlings.
Many graduates of this sale perform successfully on the track each year, including MAURICE (5-y-o colt by Screen Hero) who has won four consecutive G1 races in Japan and Hong Kong over the past two years and has won earnings of over US$6,200,000.
The biggest attraction of the Summer Sale is the variety of horses available at reasonable prices. You will find horses with a wide range of pedigrees and suited to different distances and surfaces (turf or dirt). There will also be fillies on offer with pedigrees that should make them attractive not just as racing but also broodmare prospects. The Summer Sale is a great opportunity for buyers to choose horses suiting their preferences from among many candidates and at relatively reasonable prices.
