4-year-old Japanese-bred Jolie's Shinju (Jolie's Halo(USA) - Endearing Quality(USA)), winner of this year's Patron's Bowl (Sin-G1), scored another victory in the 1600m Singapore Derby Trial (Sin-G2) over 1600m on the turf at Kranji Racecourse on June 21,2009. She now has a record of 8 wins from 18 starts with earnings of S$789,052.50.
Now a top contender in the Singapore Derby (Sin-G1) (2000m turf) to be held on July 12, Jolie's Shinju(JPN) will be a triple crown winner if she wins the upcoming race. Another Japanese-bred, 4-year-old gelding Keep Away (Air Jihad(JPN) - Laurel Alice(JPN)) will also be running in the Singapore Derby. Keep Away(JPN) was purchased at the 2006 Hokkaido Autumn Sale by trainer Hideyuki Takaoka for 1,575,000yen
