Meisho Samson to run Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe

22 October, 2008

Meisho Samson, a five-year-old stallion sired by Opera House (GB), a stud at JBBA's Shizunai Stallion Station, is to run in the Prix de l'Arc de Trimomphe (GI) on October 5.

In 2006 Meisho Samson became a Double Crown winner after winning the Satsuki Sho (GI) and the Japan Derby, while in 2007 it won both the spring and autumn Tenno Sho races. It has so far run 24 races, won nine, placed second seven times, and come third twice. Its damsire, Dancing Brave (USA) is also a JBBA stallion, so with its Europe-oriented pedigree, expectations are running high. The horse is currently in quarantine at the JRA's Fukushima Racecourse ahead of its departure from Japan on August 20.
